The Plans

How do I print the plans?
Most of the plan sets have been formatted to fit on 8 ½ x 11 paper, so you can easily print from home.  If you purchase a set of plans that require printing on larger paper, simply take (or email) the file to your local print shop and have them make copies for you.  The paper size required for your set of plans will be noted directly below the “add to cart” button on the product page.

What are the advantages of downloadable pdf files?
You will receive the plans instantly, and will have the ability to print as many copies as you need.    While you may print as many copies as you need for your project, it is not legal to share or give the plans to others.

How much does it cost to build a playhouse?
Material cost often change and can vary from one location to another.  Most lumber supply stores have estimators that can take your plans & material list and provide a cost estimate.

Is it possible to have the plans modified?
At this time we do not offer services to modify the plans.

What if I don’t see what I’m looking for?
We are not currently offering custom design services, but would love to know what type of playhouse plans you need.  We will add your request to our running wish list.  New plans are added periodically.  It is our goal to provide a diverse range of playhouse types and styles.

Are reverse images available?
No, because of the small nature of the playhouses, most contractors should not have a problem building the plan in reverse.  If you need the plan flipped or mirrored for permitting, you may need to hire a local professional to produce the required site plan drawings.

What information is required for permitting, and is it included in the plans?
Requirements for permitting will vary depending on your location.  Check with your local building officials to determine what is required.  Site plans showing where the structure will be located on your site are often required, and can be produced by a local professional.  You may also be asked to provide color or material samples.

Are the plans stamped by an architect?
No. If this is a requirement from your local building department, you will need to hire an architect or engineer to review and stamp the plans.

Do the plans include a step by step instruction manual?
No, the plans are not a step by step set of instructions.  An understanding of basic construction techniques is recommend.
